Last summer, I fell in love with Luke Combs’ music. I was a little late to the party, but I’m glad I hopped on the bandwagon. He doesn’t have a single bad song yet. I can listen to his entire album all the way through, over and over again and not get tired of it, which is rare for me. He’s worth the hype, y’all.
So of course, I’ve been anticipating new music from him. Luke’s new EP, The Prequel, is available now! I’ve listened to it on repeat for the last two days. There’s not a bad song on it, but that’s to be expected from Luke Combs.
For months, I listened to the live versions of these songs on YouTube, as any Bootlegger (Luke Combs fan) would do. It’s hard to pick a favorite song off of the EP, but two of the five new songs really stand out the most to me.
I waited and waited for the studio version of “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and it did NOT disappoint. But, oddly enough, it didn’t make the cut of my two favorite songs off of the EP. My favorite that I’ve listened to the most since it has been released is “Refrigerator Door.” It’s just one of those songs that if you hear it 20 years from now, it’ll take you right back down memory lane.
My other favorite is “Lovin’ On You.” It’s one of those songs that I could picture myself screaming the lyrics at his concert 20 years from now. Then again, that’s how I feel about a lot of his music. This one just has something about it that makes it unique.
Moral of the story, if you aren’t on the Luke Combs bandwagon, you should get on it! This dude’s a beast, and you won’t be disappointed.
