Who is Ray Fulcher?

A look at the songwriter behind some of Luke Combs’ hits

Behind every hit song is a great songwriter. Georgia native, Ray Fulcher has co-written several songs for Luke Combs (ex. “When It Rains It Pours,” “Lovin’ On You”), and I’ll be honest, that’s how I first heard about him. It wasn’t until Fulcher’s EP, Somebody Like Me, dropped that I actually listened to his music.

My favorite song on the new EP would definitely have to be “Somebody Like Me.” However, “Anything Like You Dance” is a good one too (don’t even get me stared on the stripped version of it). But, don’t stop at his new EP, listen to some of his older music too. It’s worth the listen, especially “Me & You.”

The first time I listened to Ray, I had to double check and see if I was listening to him, or Eric Church. His voice and music style reminds me a lot of Eric Church, in a good way!

Much like a lot of country singer/songwriters, Ray Fulcher is definitely one of country music’s hidden gems. I prefer artists who write their own songs, and Ray definitely doesn’t have the “corporate” country sound, which I like. If you haven’t listened to him yet, I definitely recommend taking the time to do so.
