Luke Combs’s new album What You See Is What You Get is finally here! The album has 17 tracks, and has some major collaborations on it. Let’s break it down track by track.
- “Beer Never Broke My Heart” – This was the first song released from the album earlier this year, and honestly I was so excited about the studio version of the song being released and every time I listen to it is like the first time I heard it.
- “Refrigerator Door” – Arguably one of the best songs of Luke’s. It was my favorite song from The Prequel and it’s one of my favorites overall on the album. Even though I’m only 20 (literally less than a month from 21), it still gives me a sense of nostalgia.
- “Even Though I’m Leaving” – Luke’s current single, and it’s definitely a tear-jerker. Everyone can relate to this song in some way.
- “Lovin’ On You” – This was my second favorite on The Prequel, and it’s still one of my favorites. A great song to listen to in the car at full blast with the windows down.
- “Moon Over Mexico” – I find this song to be stuck in my head literally at least once a week.
- “1, 2 Many” – This song features Brooks & Dunn, and I’m here for it. Just imagine they were a trio, country music wouldn’t know what to do with itself.
- “Blue Collar Boys” – I like this song (and Luke really) because he still sings about people in their day-to-day lives. Not just about picking up girls, trucks and literally everything else that mainstream country music talks about.
- “New Every Day” – This song took me back to the week that I broke up with my boyfriend of four years. I wish this song was out maybe a month or so sooner.
- “Reasons” – I’ve been waiting for the studio version of this song for sooooo long and it did not disappoint! Everything I wanted it to be.
- “Every Little Bit Helps” – Another song I wish I would’ve had a month or so sooner whenever I was going through that breakup.
- “Dear Today” – THIS ONE SENT ME. It’s part acoustic, part studio, and 100% amazing. This one everyone can relate to, no matter how old or how young.
- “What You See Is What You Get” – One of my favorites on the album (I’ve said this a lot), but I literally have not been able to get it out of my head all week and I’m not complaining about it.
- “Does To Me (feat. Eric Church)” – I’ve decided this is my favorite on the album. Eric and Luke need to do a tour together at this point. I feel like I connect with this one personally because I have a lot of little things that wouldn’t mean a lot to other people, but they mean a lot to me.
- “Angels Workin’ Overtime” – This song reminds me a lot of a few of his other songs that aren’t on this album, though I can’t put my finger on what they are or why this song reminds me of them.
- “All Over Again” – I love this song, and it honestly reminded me of “One Number Away.” Another song that’s high up on my list on this album.
- “Nothing Like You” – The second time I listened to this song, I was looking out the window at my school, which is right down the road from an airport, and a plane flew overhead right as the song started. I love this song because it’s sweet, and I wish someone would write me a song like this.
- “Better Together” – Right after listening to this, I sent it to my boyfriend (who hates country music, by the way) because it made me think of him. Again, I wish someone would write me a love song. The piano in this song made me emotional.
Overall, this album is amazing, and definitely worth the wait. If you see me crying while listening to “Better Together,” mind ya business.
